Yoga Festival – Jageshwar , Uttrakhand October, 2015
Jageshwar, 35km from Almora, will be the venue of the Yoga Mahotsav organised by Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN)
In the sacred land of Jageshwar, one of the most holy and ancient temples of the Himalayas, a special Jageshwar Yoga Festival will be held, in honour of the first International Day of Yoga. The programme will include asanas, pranayama, meditation, divine discourses by yoga masters, sacred fire ceremonies (yagna/havan), divine lighting ceremonies (aarti), nature walks and much more. Lord Shiva is known as the Lord of Yoga and the Jageshwar temple is one of the most ancient and sacred temples of Lord Shiva. In fact, it is said that He and Goddess Parvati reside at this temple for half the year (the other half the year on Mt. Kailash). Spend 3 days in the refreshing Himalayan climate, enjoy local sattvik food, and be inspired, uplifted and transformed by days full of yoga teachings.
Please note that the Uttarakhand Tourism department has postponed this event October/November. We will let you all know the new date as soon as it is fixed.
